Memories are merely

Vibrations

As I was flying back to Portland from LA, I was listening to my audiobook The Law of Divine Compensation by Marianne Williamson (which if you haven’t read, I highly recommend and will link to it here) and she said the line, “Memories are merely vibrations”

I feel like this is the line I have been looking to tell my clients, to explain the work I do, for SO LONG. She so beautifully summed up in four words.

Just think for a second, of a time in your life where you are telling the story of something that happened in the past. You then hear the story from someone else’s perspective and it’s different than yours.

This isn’t because they are lying. They aren’t delusional. You aren’t either.

We all view the world through a different lens.

A different view point.

And a different interpretation.

They even say, “all stories have two sides”

Our life, our past, and the culmination of all our experiences dictate how we view and interpret the world.

For example, someone who has experienced an intense trauma will attach more weight and intensity to a stranger touching their shoulder, than someone who has not.

Does that make sense?

So here’s where it begins to come together…

If we all see the world through a different lens, we will all attach different memories, different emotions, and thus, a different vibration to a situation.

Why does this matter?

Well, if it’s a good memory and good vibration, it doesn’t.

It’s when it’s a bad one.

These are the ones that

  • Hold us back
  • Manifest as health issues, anxiety, depression
  • And limit us from living to our fullest potential

I talk about the subconscious mind a lot because it is SO incredibly important. And these memories, these vibrations are stored in the subconscious. And the subconscious mind will continue to replay these tapes, these memories, these vibrations for the rest of our life.

Not to punish us or make us miserable, but to protect us.

If something painful has happened in the past, your subconscious mind latches onto that feeling/emotion/vibration, and will continue to move you forward in a way that not only avoids it, but protects you from it ever happening again.

That’s because your mind’s #1 job is to keep you alive.

Not to seek and experience pleasure and joy, it’s to keep you alive.

Because back in the days when we lived in the wild, this was the most important thing.

So, then the answer, and the solution really, to change is to change the vibrations we associate with a certain memory.

This doesn’t mean we need to forget it. But we can lessen the emotional charge, and the energy that our mind attached to this.

How?

I’m so glad you asked 😉

Through:

Hypnotherapy.

I’m sure there are other modalities out there… CBT, EFT, and *maybe* years of talk therapy.

But the quickest way that I have experienced is through hypnotherapy.

And when I say quick, I mean 1-3 sessions. But most of my clients only need one.

This is because we dialogue DIRECTLY with the subconscious mind.

Through this, we can identify the block. See the way it’s been impacting us all these years (and for some, maybe even decades).

Then, this is where things get interesting – is we can do a variety of things…

So often we see how our pains, our negatively charged experiences, actually taught us a lesson. Actually protected us.

Lastly, just like a dial, we turn down the intensity. To one that isn’t forgetting the memory, but is attaching new meaning to it.

One of understanding, learning, or neutrality – depending on the person and their unique experience.

Memories really are JUST vibrations.

And vibrations transmute all time and space, and can stick with us a lifetime.

That is why until we deal with them, they will follow us. Most likely the rest of our life.

So, if you have experienced:

  • Trauma
  • Abuse
  • A bad childhood
  • Neglect
  • Disappointment
  • Teasing/bullying
  • Abandonment

Or any other negativity regarding an experience you’ve dealt with, and you are ready to move on. To release a pain, a health issue, your anxiety, depression, autoimmune condition – or anything else in your life that has stuck around because of the negative vibration your mind has attached to the memory, I’m here to say – there is healing.

I would love to hear your story, and help you attach a new vibration. Turn the negativity into positivity. Lessen the intensity. And empower you to live in nothing but complete abundance and love.
